FAQs: Moxi Laser Skin Resurfacing at CNY Cosmetic & Reconstructive Surgery
How does Moxi laser skin resurfacing work?
Moxi is a state-of-the-art laser device that is designed to gently roll across your skin. As Moxi rolls, it emits laser energy that creates thousands of fractionated treatment zones in your skin, stimulating your skin’s natural healing response. As your skin heals, vibrant new collagen and elastin are produced, revealing a wide array of complexion improvements, including smoother texture and a refreshed, youthful glow.
Does Moxi laser hurt?
Moxi is a well-tolerated skin treatment. The light- to medium-intensity treatments do not require any topical anesthetic, though we can apply numbing cream if you like. As Moxi rolls across your skin, you will feel and hear a sparking sensation as the laser is stimulating your skin.
What’s the difference between Moxi and ProFractional® laser treatment?
Moxi and ProFractional are both fractional laser skin resurfacing treatments that provide similar complexion benefits. During your personal consultation, we will analyze your skin type and goals to determine which laser skin treatment is ideal for your unique needs.
What areas of the body can I treat with Moxi?
Moxi is typically performed on the face, neck and chest, but this fractional laser skin resurfacing treatment can treat almost any area of the body.
Is there downtime with Moxi?
Your social downtime will depend on the intensity of your Moxi treatment. The most intense Moxi treatment will result in red skin that gradually renews itself within five to seven days. The mildest Moxi treatment should involve minimal to no social downtime.
What are the side effects of Moxi?
Immediately following your treatment, your skin will be bright red. This redness will fade in the following hours or days, depending on treatment intensity, as your skin gradually heals and renews itself.
How many treatments do I need?
If you’re looking for a quick complexion refresh with no downtime for a healthy-looking glow, you may choose to undergo one Moxi treatment as needed. If you’re looking for more dramatic complexion improvements, you may benefit from a series of three treatments, administered every six weeks.
